Sica Open is recommended for sanding soft. resin-rich types of wood. The silicon carbide grains provide a smoother scratch pattern on the sanding surface, as well as a higher level of surface gloss, than aluminum-oxide based sanding materials. The open coating prevents clogging and improves the lifetime of the product. Since the product is completely antistatic, the dust load on the sanding surface is remarkably smaller, which in turn produces a better surface treatment result.

Sica Closed is fully antistatic product suited for belt sanding and sanding of MDF and other materials coated with water-based surface treatment coatings.
